Connectors:
Ø A device that terminates a segment of cabling or
provides a point of entry for networking devices such as computers, switches,
and routers.
Ø Connector is part of a cable that plugs into a port or interface to connect
one device to another.
Ø Connectors can be distinguished according to their
physical appearance and mating properties, either plugs i.e. male connector (containing one or
more exposed pins)
or socket/jacks/ports i.e. female connectors (containing
holes in which the male connector can be inserted).
