What is Coaxial Cable Connector ?
Coaxial Cable Connector
Ø Connectors used with thin coax are known as BNC
Connector
Ø The BNC connector (Bayonet Neill–Concelman)
is a miniature quick connect /disconnect radio
frequency connector used for coaxial cable.
Ø Coaxial Cable Connector is ethernet connector.
Ø BNC connector is a series of connectors used for
connecting thinnet coaxial cabling to various networking components.
Ø BNC connectors use a twist-and-lock mechanism that
provides a secure connection between network cabling and components.
Ø Several different types of BNC connectors are
available and used for different purposes.

BNC Terminator
BNC Barrel Connector:
Ø They are cylindrical and connects two segments of
cable
BNC-T Connector:
Ø They are shaped like the letter T and connect a
device to a cable
Ø Horizontal part of T connects two segments of cable (like
a barrel connector) and vertical part connects the device
Ø This connector has a center pin connected to the
center cable conductor and a metal tube connected to the outer cable shield. A
rotating ring outside the tube locks the cable to any female connector.
Ø BNC connectors can also be used to connect some monitors, which increases
accuracy of the signals sent from the video adapter.
Ø BNC T-connectors (used with the 10Base-2 system) are
female devices for connecting two cables to a network interface card (NIC).
BNC Terminator:
Ø They are attached to each end of a thin coaxial trunk
cable to prevent signal reflection, which can interfere with other signals.
Ø Terminators provide electrical resistance at end of
cable and “absorb” signals to keep them from bouncing back and being heard
again by the devices connected to cable
